Couples Therapy & Couples Intensives in Oviedo and Winter Park, FL
Marriage Counseling with Alexis Honeycutt, LMHC, Certified Gottman Therapist
When the same argument keeps returning, trust has been damaged, or one partner is pushing for answers while the other shuts down, it can become difficult to change what keeps happening between you.

Alexis Honeycutt works with couples who want focused, research-based help to understand what is breaking down and make meaningful progress. Private-pay care is available in Oviedo, with scheduled appointments in Winter Park. Couples may begin with ongoing therapy or a more concentrated couples intensive, depending on what is happening in the relationship now.
How Florida Couples Can Work With Alexis
Couples reach out at very different points in a relationship. Some want consistent support over time. Others are dealing with something that needs more concentrated attention. And for a small number of couples, privacy, demanding schedules, family responsibilities, or travel logistics make the usual office-based model unusually difficult.

Alexis offers several ways for Florida couples to work with her without forcing every relationship into the same schedule or level of care.

Weekly Couples Therapy
Weekly couples therapy offers ongoing time to address communication, conflict, trust, emotional distance, and the ways a relationship changes under the pressure of work, family, and everyday life.

Alexis provides in-person couples therapy in Oviedo and by scheduled appointment in Winter Park, with virtual couples therapy available throughout Florida.
Private Couples Intensives
Couples intensives provide substantially more uninterrupted time with Alexis when a relationship needs focused attention beyond the pace of a standard weekly session.

Alexis offers several private intensive options, ranging from a Half-Day Relationship Assessment to One-Day and Two-Day Couples Intensives. These are private clinical services for one couple at a time, not group retreats or workshops.
Private Two-Day Couples Intensive at Your Location
For a limited number of couples who need the depth of the Two-Day Couples Intensive but face unusual privacy, scheduling, travel, or family constraints, Alexis can travel to an approved private location in Florida.

This option provides a concierge-level degree of privacy, convenience, and logistical coordination while remaining a clinically directed couples intensive. It includes approximately 12 clinical hours across two consecutive treatment days and is arranged individually around the couple, the proposed location, Alexis’s travel, and the calendar requirements involved.
Strengthen, Protect, or Rebuild Your Relationship
Couples do not all reach out for the same reason, and they do not all arrive in crisis. Some want to protect a strong relationship before resentment or distance begins to take over. Some are preparing for marriage or navigating an important new chapter together. Others are exhausted by the same argument, feel more like partners in logistics than partners in life, or are trying to understand whether trust can be rebuilt after betrayal.

Alexis works with couples who want to:

-
Communicate without difficult conversations repeatedly turning into criticism, defensiveness, pressure, or silence.
-
Feel close again after months or years of emotional or physical distance.
-
Rebuild trust after infidelity, secrecy, or another significant rupture in the relationship.
-
Stop having the same argument without ever resolving what is underneath it.
-
Prepare for marriage with a stronger understanding of communication, conflict, expectations, and the life they are building together.
-
Strengthen a relationship that is already important and worth protecting before small problems become larger ones.

The reason for reaching out may be different, but the goal is not simply to talk about what is wrong. It is to understand what keeps happening between you, change the conversations that are no longer working, and build a relationship that feels stronger in everyday life.
Relationship Expertise Grounded in Gottman Research
Couples therapy is the central focus of Alexis Honeycutt’s practice. As a Certified Gottman Therapist, she brings advanced relationship-specific training to couples who want help that goes beyond simply having a place to talk.

Her work is grounded in decades of Gottman research on communication, conflict, friendship, intimacy, trust, and the behaviors that strengthen or erode relationships over time. Alexis uses that foundation to help couples understand what is happening in their own relationship and make changes they can carry into life outside the therapy room.

Alexis is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida, a National Certified Counselor, and a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator. She also serves as an adjunct instructor at the University of Central Florida, where she teaches undergraduate coursework in Marriage and Intimate Relationships.

What to Know Before You Inquire
Alexis operates a private-pay practice and does not accept insurance. Couples therapy and intensive services are arranged directly with the practice rather than through an insurance plan.

When you are ready to reach out, the contact form will ask for a brief overview of what is happening and the type of support you are considering. You do not need to know whether weekly therapy, an office-based intensive, or another option is the right starting point before you inquire.

If you are contacting the practice about the Private Two-Day Couples Intensive at your location, keep sensitive clinical details out of the initial website inquiry. A brief administrative description is enough to begin the conversation.

There is no free-consultation offer or online self-scheduling process. The inquiry process is designed to make sure the practice understands what you are looking for before scheduling begins.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do we know whether weekly couples therapy or an intensive makes more sense?
Weekly couples therapy may make sense when you want ongoing support and time to make changes gradually. A couples intensive may be more appropriate when the relationship needs concentrated attention, trust has been seriously damaged, conflict keeps escalating, or a standard weekly session does not provide enough uninterrupted time for what is happening.

You do not need to decide which option is right before contacting the practice.
